With Jack now gone, Ianto dead, Tosh and Owen long gone, and the base destroyed it could be the end. What do you think?
By the way, the five night series was excellent.... dark, but excellent. So many jaw-dropping moments.

So, is Jack an arse or a genius?
I was wondering the same. It looked like they were introducing Lois as a new Torchwood character but with the way it ended I'm not so sure. With Jack disappearing into space like that I reckon there's a good chance he'll turn up in the Doctor Who specials.
Lois and Rapesh would've made great additions to the team, But we were meant to think that. Lois is still a viable member, and in the 6 months from the end of Episode 5 to Jack teleporting off, TORCHWOOD CARDIFF, could've been rebuilt and moderneised and the Silver Tower put back in place. I was in Cardiff Bay last night, and it is back where it should be, so there's hope yet !
We could have some TORCHWOOD:'PAST' series, as we've met some of the TEAMS from various decades of the 20th century (like Casualty 1909).
Jack could have himself cleansed after his trip in space and become leader of TORCHWOOD CARDIFF, yet again in 2010.
A co-worker of mine who is heavily into WHO, Torchwood, Forever Knight, Highlander, etc. attended the Media West Convention here in the States a little while back. The rumor making the rounds was that the new head of WHO, Steve Moffitt (spelling?), was going to drop the ax on Torchwood and The Sarah Jane stories since he wanted to only concentrate on WHO. What took place during T-COE seems to confirm that to me. Torchwood is done . . . . damned them!!! One of the best shows I've ever watched (I'm also a SPOOKS fan) and it's terminated after only 3 seasons.
Yea. I am guessing (sadly) that it is the end of Torchwood, which is a shame because it had plenty of life left in it.
That was an awsome ride over five nights, had me on the edge of my seat.
Have just finished watching on iplayer. Shame Jack had to go - he's become like The Doctor and running away from everything!
What a preposterous load of tosh it all was! I've rarely seen such an unmitigated pile of pony poop! That said, I was glued to the seat with my fingers curled in anguish, gripping the edge of the coffee table, white and bloodless with nervous tension.
Torchwood has to come back! It's as simple as that. As taxpayers, we have to demand our weekly uptake of bonkers pseudo-science.
P.S. Jack's 'Plan A' was about the worst I've ever seen, anywhere, and like Baldrick, I've come up with some daft, cunning plans myself so I should know! 'Plan B' was a little better, but terribly harsh.
You know, I truly thought the Brits had a better handle on television-what's good and what isn't-but they have obviously caught up with the most jaded of network executives in the USA. For The Powers That Be to cancel Torchwood to concentrate on Dr. Who is preposterous. Dr. Who is fine, but Torchwood was excellent. Great writing, casting and acting. The cast had wonderful chemistry. If this really is the end of Torchwood, not to be resurrected in some imaginative way, at least it ended with a bang.
By the way, enlighten and American, how DO they decide what stays and what goes in the UK--as far as programming?
It is not the end of Torchwood! They did children of earth to bring in new viewers, personally it worked on me! I had never previously see Torchwood and boy what was I missing!!! Now I have gone out and bought series 1 and 2, also the children of earth dvd.
Torchwood will be back again, Gwen and Jack seem to be the main 2 characters anyway. Though I get a feeling that its going to be a long time before we see series 4.
