  • Now every day can be Barrowday!

Following on from CJ's earlier post, I have to inform you that TV-god John Barrowman's influence is now spreading to week days

With Phil-Edd-the-duck-Schofield off this week, John Barrowman is co-presenting 'This Morning' with Fern Britton, who seems to be rather enjoying herself :>> Lucky girl!

  • Lost has been found again. It returns next Sunday

    Someone close to Sayid dies.

  • Midsomer Murders

.. is back on tonight for a new series.

Although I am not sure how many episodes comprise a 'series' these days. If it is one episode then it would ba a 'feature length special', so I reckon it will be two! If it is three or more then we are being treated.
Which is more than anyone who lives there can say. In fact if you still live there- then that's a treat. It means you haven't been bumped off.
Because apparently, since it started, there have been 110 murders, 6 suicides and 13 miscellaneous deaths! Fancy living with those odds?

  • Chuck

    chuck
Chuck is a geek- an IT specialist at a computer shop. Until he opens an email from an old friend (and spy) and accidentally downloads the entire contents of the CIA/NSA database.
Now he is the only one with important information.
I am thoroughly enjoying this show (virgin, Monday 10pm) Reminds me a bit of Alias. Worth a watch.

(PS loved the Tango scene last week. His Sister's boyfriend had taght him the female part. He had to ask the lady to lead! :)) )

  • I Scream, You Scream, We all scream for Ice Cream

It's the Apprentice tonight. I am really loving this show!

Week 5 So Simon is gone but The Apprentice continues... and judging by our video previews, this is shaping up to be one heck of a week...

The fifth task sees the teams tackle an ice cream making challenge. Both sets of contestants must devise new dessert flavours... but someone will end up with a bitter taste in their mouth.

Hmmmmmmm.... Ice Cream. Surely they can't mess that up ;)

PS: Doesn anyone remember that slogan for ice cream? Or did I make it up?

  • The Doctor Who Hears Voices

Did anyone see this last night? I taped the second half and watched it today. Very interesting. I read a book years ago about a woman who managed to reclaim power over her schizophrenia so I knew that it could be done.

The thing that interested me most was the abusive voice she heard in her head. It turned out to be the voice of a school bully who'd taunted her for two years in secondary school!

It's amazing to me that these type of illnesses can be confronted and overcome. We mostly don't have the resources to put the time or money that's needed into it. What a tragedy. So many people living on pills for the rest of their lives. Of course, these two (the girl on TV and the girl in the book) may be isolated cases. I know there are degrees of affliction. But the girl on TV was hearing voices telling her to kill herself and her parents! Is that normal for the illness or severe? I'm not medically trained so have no idea.

I'm so hoping some other folk saw this! ........

  • Gavin and Stacey

What a fabulous series this has been!

I am so sad to know that the series eneded last night. I have heard too that there may not be another series made...:(

  • Prime Time Sunday Night

on BBC and they're showing a repeat of Friday's My Family!

Why?!? It was only shown two days ago. I like My Family but the BBC can do better than showing a 2 day old repeat.

  • Dexter

Anyone else watching Dexter on ITV1 on Wednesdays?

Must admit we started watching it out of pure curiosity, one of hubby-kin's colleagues had been raving about it for a while but I'd heard also heard some negative reviews.

    Dexter_secret

I must agree with one of the comments about that particular Postsecret - I don't think that Dexter's interior monologue is particularly witty, I'd far rather have JD's from Scrubs

That aside, I'm enjoying the series... even if I knew aaaaaaaaages ago who the ice-truck killer was

I am quite looking forward to seeing how that storyline goes, what will happen to Dexter's sister? How will the psychological games continue between the killer and Dexter?

Any other comments about this series?

  • Flog It!

I know there are so many "sell it, take it all to a boot fair, clear your house and sell it all" kind of programmes out there now but Flog It! is in a class of it's own.

Paul Martin and the team are just wonderful and they do genuinely seem to worry about the sellers making as much money as they can.

I love it and watch it every day if I can!

  • Come Bitch With Me

Another show that is fast becoming 'must see' TV- especially now that Waterloo Road isn't on- is Come Dine With Me. (Thur Channel 4 8pm)

The Mirror has this to say

Is Come Dine With Me the bitchiest show on the box?

The recipe for Come Dine With Me's success? Simple. Put four strangers together for a dinner party, add a pinch of pressure by getting each to take it in turns to cook, a sprinkling of underhand insults mixed in with lashings of funny fly-on-the-wall moments

The voice over guy (Dave Lamb) definitely adds some great comments.
The last episode just gone, one guy (the David Cameron fan) decided to make his meal up from cost-cutters food. He chose to make a 'Banana and Orange Surprise' for dessert. Which was a Banana cut in half and some orange segments in the middle.
Guest 1: Banana and Orange Surprise? I wonder what the surprise was
Guest 2: The surprise was I thought I was going to enjoy it.

    :))

  • Gavin and Stacey

    Oh no!!!
Sunday is the last episode of this fantastic series. We have laughed our socks off each Sunday evening.

I really hope there will be another series as it is just fab!

  • Eastenders- Friday 18th April

Have I missed something? When did the Barmaid of the year ????? competition become Christian's job? How come he hosted it?
My OH saw that Stephen story coming a ile off "We could write these scripts" she said!

    Anyone fancy a Well'Ard curry?

  • Heroes Season 2

Will be starting on BBC2 on Thursday April 24th

  • The Apprentice- 16th April

THe Apprentice is must watch TV in our house and tonights show was no exception. But by the end of it I felt like I had stepped on a puppy! Poor Simon. Still he wasn't managing those people very wel- but can you really manage such devious backstabbers like Claire and Alex. Alex is really irritating. Claire is aggressive but there is something about her, but Alex is purely obnoxious. Right from the offset it was obvious he was out to sabotage the task for Simon (and save his own back)
Back on the other team, what is wrong with Lucinda? Why is everyone picking on her? And why did Helene put her in charge of IT, when she confessed that she was useless at IT! I thought it was very telling of Helene's attitude that she sat back drinking coffee whilst Lucinda struggled with turning the computer on! "IT's not my job- it's yours" was her excuse!

Bye bye Simon. You were a good bloke, but the bitches got you in the end

  • Eastenders- that Slater boy

Did he .... shag... Gus' girl?

What is it that women see in him at all?
I can't see anything about him.

  • Pushing Daisies- ITV

This was a good show. I had forgot it was on last night and only found it when flicking through the channels. It has a hint of Desperate Housewives about it.

Little Ned is a young boy with a very special gift. He can bring people back to life with just one touch. It’s a skill he learns when his beloved pooch Digby gets hit by a truck. Just after impact the lovely retriever is up and about again.

But the story gets complicated when he discovers his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, has been murdered. Ned has been working for a private investigator who wants Chuck brought back to life for just enough time to reveal the identity of the killer. Then he wants Ned to touch her a second time, thereby consigning her to a second and permanent death. But can he do it?

Pushing Daisies stars British actress Anna Friel and Golden Globe nominee Lee Pace

Anna Friel! I was trying to work out where I had seen that girl before!

If you haven't seen it I would try to!

  • Are you enjoying your Barrowday

This used to be Saturday, but I am thinking of renaming it Barrowday. Named ofter the TV God Barrowman, who appears to have adopted the evening's BBC television schedule. What with the Nancy's and his obvious connection to Doctor Who, there was this knew quiz show "The Kids are alright" which as a quiz show is fine but....... was it me or did the Barrowmeister shout everything? And talk about overacting? Is he worried that there will be no more Torchwood?

  • My Family- New Series

My family starts again tonight 9m on BBC1
It is one of those comedy shows that has succeeded in the past couple of years- which is surprising because of it's 'normal' nature. Most comedies that do well at the moment tend to be a bit 'different' in one way or another. (Groundbreaking, some may say)

Why is My Family such a success? Probably the characters (although they shouldn't have got rid of Nick)

I have done this 'which character are you most like' quiz...and it turns out I am Michael!

You are a brain box. You love doing your work and show meticulous attention to detail. You'd be a bit of a geek if it wasn't for your stunning good looks. You attract admirers without trying. You're almost perfect. However you have a tendency to be arrogant, lazy and occasionally rude. Iron out those less attractive qualities and you will go far.
